Forward Caleb Herbert Assigned to the Stingrays from Hershey

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays, celebrating 22 seasons of hockey in the Lowcountry, announced today that forward Caleb Herbert has been assigned to the team by the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Herbert, 23, scored four goals and an assist for five points in four games with the Stingrays this season including his first professional hat trick on November 1 against the Greenville Road Warriors. The Bloomington, Minnesota, native appeared in 12 games with the Bears this season picking up two assists.
Skating in his first full professional season, Herbert completed a three-year collegiate career at the University of Minnesota - Duluth totaling 89 points (32 goals, 57 assists) in 112 contests. Following his senior season, he appeared in seven games with the Bears and scored a goal and an assist in his first professional game. He was selected by the Capitals in the fifth round (142nd overall) in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
The Stingrays continue a three-game in three-day road trip tonight, Saturday December 6 against the Reading Royals at 7:05 p.m. and Sunday, December 7 at 5:05 p.m. at Santander Arena in Reading, Pennsylvania.
The Stingrays return to the Coliseum to host the Cincinnati Cyclones on Tuesday, December 9 at 7:05 p.m. for 2x2 Tuesday!
