IceMen Add Forward Murray, Deal Serratore to Cincinnati

EVANSVILLE, Ind- The Evansville IceMen, presented by Coors Light, made a few roster moves on Saturday as they claimed Colin Murray off of waivers from the Kalamazoo Wings. The IceMen also traded rookie forward,Tom Serratore to the Cincinnati Cyclones for future considerations.

Standing at 6'4", Murray scored two goals in six games with the Wings in 2014-15. The Oshawa, Ontario native also led Kalamazoo in points during the preseason.

The rookie forward played his college hockey at Castleton State, where Murray netted a career best 12 goals in 2011-12. He also tallied 23 points in 20 games. Murray also topped the 20-point plateau again with 24 in his senior year, including a career best 17 assists.

The 25-year-old earned the ECAC EAST Player of the Week honor on two occasions. He also was named to the ECAC East All-Academic Team in his sophomore and senior seasons.

Serratore played six games with the IceMen after being acquired in a trade with Toledo on Nov.8. The rookie out of Colorado Springs picked up an assist in the IceMen's loss to Orlando on Nov.11. A graduate of the University of Minnesota, Serratore was +1 during his time in Evansville.

The IceMen will host their rivals, the Fort Wayne Komets on Friday Dec. 12th at the Ford Center. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:15 p.m as Evansville continues its six-game home stand.

Friday's game will also be the IceMen's first What Would You do For A Grand Contest presented by Midwest Communications and Crosspointe Insurance Advisors. Fans are welcome to submit what they would do to win $1,000. The three best submissions will show the crowd what they are willing to do during intermission of the IceMen's game against Fort Wayne.
