Stingrays Game Preview: Stingrays Put Four-Game Winning Streak on the Line against the Reading Royal

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays battle the Reading Royals tonight at 7:05 at Santander Arena in Reading, Pennsylvania. Tonight is the first of three regular-season meeting between the two teams and the first-ever contest between the sides as East Division rivals.

Series Breakdown:

The Stingrays hold an all-time record of 15-9-0 against the Royals and went 1-1-0-1 head-to-head last season. Forward Wayne Simpson tied for second on the Stingrays in the series with two points (two assists). Goaltender Jeff Jakaitis went 1-0-0-1 with a 1.93 goals-against average and .930 save percentage.

On a Streak:

The Stingrays enter tonight's matchup on a four-game winning streak and are coming off of back-to-back shutout victories. The Stingrays blanked the Elmira Jackals last night 5-0 at First Arena in Elmira, New York. Forward Wayne Simpson registered a goal and two assists and goaltender Jeff Jakaitis picked up his second consecutive shutout and fourth straight victory making 17 saves.

Picking up the Points:

Forwards Braden Pimm (three goals, one assist) and Brandon Hynes (two goals, two assists) are currently riding four-game point steaks. Simpson has six points (three goals, three assists) in his last five games.

The Stingrays close a three-game in three-day road trip tomorrow, Sunday, December 7 against the Royals at 5:05 p.m. at Santander Arena in Reading, Pennsylvania.
