Texas and Rockford meet for the fourth time this season and the 16th time in AHL history. The two teams will play a total of six games this season, including three at Cedar Park Center. The Stars lead the all-time series with an 11-4-0-0 record against the Hogs, including a 6-2-0-0 mark at home. Last time the two teams played on Jan. 13th in Rockford, the IceHogs scored a 3-1 win. Rockford has taken the last two meetings by a combined score of 11-6.

The Stars are 14-8-3-2 at Cedar Park Center this season and 5-3-1-1 in the last ten games. The Stars are playing the third contest of a four-game home stand. Texas is in a stretch of five straight games against divisional opponents. The Stars are 22-13-1-2 against the West Division this season. The Stars are the least penalized team in the league accruing 11.82 penalty minutes a game. The Stars are 13-1-3-3 in one-goal games this year. The Stars are coming off a 4-1 loss to Houston at home on Tuesday. Texas will conclude a four-game home stand on Saturday and then embark on a season-long 14-day road trip. Over the span, the Stars will play eight road games.

The IceHogs are 9-10-0-2 on the road this season and 3-6-1-0 in the last ten games played. Rockford is coming off a 4-1 loss at home to Houston on Wednesday night. The Hogs rank ninth overall in the AHL, averaging 18.69 penalty minutes per game. The IceHogs have been outscored 56-49 on the road this year. Rockford is 12-15-2-4 against the West Division this season. With 31 goals scored in the first period of play this year, the IceHogs rank 27th in the AHL for first-period scoring. Rockford ranks seventh in the AHL, allowing only 28.63 shots per game.

Through three games of the season series, Hogs forward Jeff Taffe leads all scorers with two goals and six points. Winger Ryan Potulny is second among scorers with two goals and three assists for five points. Right wing Colton Sceviour leads Texas in scoring with a goal and three points in three games against the Hogs. Five other skaters for Texas have two points each in the season series. Dan Spang leads the team with two goals.

Stars goalie Richard Bachman is 0-1-0 with a 2.03 goals against average and a .938 save percentage. Goalie Brent Krahn is 1-0-0 with a 2.77 goals against average and a .903 save percentage. Last season, Krahn went 4-0-0 with a 0.99 goals against average and a .971 save percentage. He also posted two shutouts against the Hogs. Rockford's Hannu Toivonen is 2-0-1 with a 2.93 goals against average and a .901 save percentage against Texas.

Dallas Recalls Vincour, Assigns Morin and Sceviour

The Dallas Stars announced on Sunday that the NHL club has recalled right wing Tomas Vincour (Vin-sooer) from the Texas Stars, Dallas' development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL). Dallas has also assigned center Travis Morin and right wing Colton Sceviour (See-vee-orr) to Texas.

Vincour, 20, is looking to make his NHL debut. He has appeared in 44 games for Texas this season, scoring five goals and seven assists for 12 points with 10 penalty minutes. The Brno, Czech Republic, native was selected by Dallas in the fifth round (129th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

Morin, 27, has appeared in three games for Dallas, including his NHL debut against Edmonton in a 3-1 win on Jan. 26. He has recorded 34 points (13g, 21a) in 47 games this season for Texas. Morin was signed as a free agent on July 12, 2010 and was originally selected in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft (ninth round, 263rd overall) by the Washington Capitals.

Sceviour, 21, was recalled from Texas on Friday and made his NHL debut Saturday at Philadelphia. He has appeared in 47 games for Texas this season, scoring nine goals and 16 assists for 25 points with four penalty minutes and a +6 rating. A native of Red Deer, Alberta, Sceviour was originally selected by Dallas in the fourth round (112 overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Texas Signs Mark Derlago

Prior to Saturday's game, the Texas Stars signed left wing Mark Derlago to a PTO (professional tryout agreement). Derlago has appeared in 48 games for the Idaho Steelheads this season, leading the team with 25 goals and 28 assists for a team-high 53 points. Last season, the 25-year old again led the team in goals, assists and points (42g-50a-92) in 60 games for Idaho, finishing fourth in the ECHL for points and tied for third in goals. In 225 ECHL games, he's scored 138 goals and totaled 279 points.

Dallas Summons Sceviour and Wathier, Texas Signs Mouillierat

The Dallas Stars announced last Friday that the club has recalled right wing Colton Sceviour and left wing Francis Wathier from the Texas Stars, Dallas' development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).

Wathier, 26, has appeared in one game for Dallas this season (Jan. 21 at Calgary). He has played in 44 AHL games for Texas this season, recording 24 points (13 goals, 11 assists). Wathier represented Texas at the AHL All-Star Game this past Monday in Hershey, PA. The St. Isidore, ON native led the Western Conference with two goals and a +2 rating in the contest. The 6-3, 230-pound winger was Dallas' sixth round selection (185th overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

The 23-year old Mouillierat has played in 44 games for the Idaho Steelheads this season, placing second on the team with 17 goals and 44 points. Prior to joining the Steelheads, Mouillierat attended training camp with the Texas Stars, the Steelheads AHL Affiliate.

Houston 4 at Texas 1 2/8/11

The Texas Stars were defeated by the Houston Aeros 4-1 on Tuesday night in front of 4,818 fans at Cedar Park Center. Houston goalie Anton Khudobin (17-9-1) made 32 saves to preserve the win as Texas outshot Houston 33-27. Houston center Patrick O'Sullivan had a multi-point night with a goal and an assist. Right wing Jon DiSalvatore tallied three assists to lead the Aeros offense. Center Cody Almond also secured a goal and an assist for Houston. Texas right wing Colton Sceviour scored the lone Texas goal midway through the third period. Texas goalie Richard Bachman (18-11-2) made 23 saves in the loss to bring the Stars to 14-8-3-2 at home.

Oklahoma City 0 at Texas 3 2/5/11

The Texas Stars defeated the Oklahoma City Barons 3-0 on Saturday night in front of 5,738 at Cedar Park Center. Texas Stars goalie Richard Bachman made 30 saves for the win, posting his fourth shutout of the year. Stars' left wing Ondrej Roman scored two goals minutes apart in the first period to give the Stars an early 2-0 that the team never surrendered. Left wing Brandon Segal had a goal and an assist, as the Stars improved to 14-7-3-2 at home this season. Oklahoma City goalie Martin Gerber (17-11-3) stopped 29 of 32 shots in the loss.

Texas 1 at Houston 4 2/4/11

The Texas Stars were defeated by the Houston Aeros 4-1 in front of 6,277 fans at the Toyota Center on Friday night. Forward Patrick O'Sullivan scored two power-play goals to lead the Aeros to their seventh win over Texas this season. Houston goalie Anton Khudobin (16-9-1) made 31 saves in the victory. Stars goalie Brent Krahn (5-5-0) stopped 32 of 35 in the loss, his first start since November 10th. Texas left wing Luke Gazdic scored the team's lone goal.

The Texas Stars

After 50 games of action, center Travis Morin leads Texas in scoring with 13 goals and 21 assists for 34 points. The All-Star center leads Texas with 21 assists in 48 games played. Right wing Greg Rallo is second on the team in scoring with 30 points (15g-15a) in 50 games played. Ralllo leads the team in goals and with 150 shots on net. Colton Sceviour is third on the team with 16 assists and 26 points in 48 games played. Dan Spang is fourth overall on the team with 22 points. Spang is third on the team in assists (17) and leads all defensemen in shots on goal (104). Defensemen Brad Lukowich is second on the team with 18 assists. Left wing Luke Gazdic's 72 penalty minutes lead the team.

Texas Stars goalies Richard Bachman and Brent Krahn fill the net for the Stars. Bachman has appeared in 34 games, going 18-11-3 with a 2.19 goals against average and a .925 save percentage. Bachman ranks seventh overall in the AHL for goals against average and seventh in save percentage. Bachman has started 19 of the last 22 games. Krahn has appeared in ten games, posting a 5-5-0 mark, a 2.94 goals against average and a .901 save percentage. Krahn was out with an injury from Nov. 10, 2010 to Feb. 4, 2011.

Streak Comes to an End

With their recalls to the NHL's Dallas Stars, Texas forwards Colton Sceviour and Travis Morin both had their consecutive games played streak ended at 127 games apiece last week. The two skaters were the last remaining original skaters to have played in every game in team history. Counting the Stars 2010 Calder Cup Playoff run, Sceviour and Morin suited up in 151 straight games heading into last weekend's action. Morin and Sceviour are still the team's all-time leaders in games played. With Morin missing this Friday's game with an injury, Sceviour will become the team's all-time leader in games played at 129 and counting.

Rockford IceHogs

Rockford Head Coach Bill Peters enters his third season with the IceHogs. Peters guided the Hogs to a second straight 40-win season last year. Prior to joining the IceHogs, Peters was the head coach for the WHL Spokane Chiefs for three seasons. In his final year in the WHL, he led the Chiefs to the 2007-08 Memorial Cup championship.

Center Jeff Taffe leads the IceHogs in scoring with 15 goals and 32 points in 43 games played. Defenseman Brian Connelly leads Rockford with 26 assists and is second with 30 points in 48 games played. Connelly has collected a team-high 13 assists on the power play. Center Ryan Poltuny is third on the team with 29 points. Potulny is tied for second on the team with 13 goals, including a team-high seven power-play markers. Rookie Kyle Beach is fourth on the squad with 23 points off ten goals and 13 assists in 46 games played. Beach is second on the team with 91 penalty minutes. Left wing Kyle Hagel's 115 penalty minutes in 47 games are tops among IceHogs.

Goalie Alec Richards is 10-14-1 with a 2.63 goals against average and an .907 save percentage. Hannu Toivonen splits time with Richards in net going 10-10-3 mark, a 2.85 goals against and an .899 save percentage.

Rockford also features former Texas Stars defenseman Ivan Vishnevskiy, who has 14 points in 39 games for the Hogs. Vishnevskiy played in 51 games for the Texas Stars in 2009-10, before Dallas traded him to Atlanta in the Kari Lehtonen deal. In the offseason, Vishnevskiy was traded by the Thrashers to the Blackhawks, who then assigned him to Rockford.

Special Teams

After finishing second overall last season on the penalty kill, the Texas Stars penalty kill is 28th overall at 77.0%. Texas ranks 16th best in the AHL, converting on 17.1% of its power plays. The IceHogs are 23rd overall on the power play, converting 15.3% of the time. Rockford is 15th overall on the penalty kill, stopping 83.0% of their opponents' power plays.

Offense and Defense

The Texas Stars are eighth overall in team defense, allowing 2.64 goals against per game. Texas is ranked 18th out of 30 teams, scoring an average of 2.74 goals per game. Rockford's defense ranks 18th overall with a 2.96 goals against per game. The Hogs sit 25th offensively, averaging 2.54 goals per game.
