The Whale opened the scoring 10 seconds into the game. Dale Weise received the puck from Brodie Dupont and skated down the right side of the ice, carrying the puck into the ‘Dogs zone. The ‘Dogs tied the game 2-2 at 4:33 of the final frame. Ryan Russell stripped the puck off a Connecticut player before racing in alone on a breakaway. Russell used a forehand-to-backhand deke before depositing the puck behind Grumet-Morris and into the net.
