Islanders Make Trio of Transactions

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (Feb. 11, 2011) ‚¬" The New York Islanders announced this morning that goaltender Al Montoya and forward Micheal Haley have been recalled and Joel Martin has been returned to the Sound Tigers. Haley's recall is on an emergency basis.

Montoya earns his first call-up to the Islanders after being acquired via trade on Wednesday. The Chicago, Ill. native shows an 11=2D8-0 record this year with San Antonio (AHL) as well as a 3-1-0 career NHL record.

Haley heads to Long Island for the first time this season and second time in his career. Haley currently leads the Sound Tigers in goals (12) and penalty minutes (144) and recorded nine penalty minutes in two NHL contests last season.

Martin returns to the Sound Tigers after his first NHL call-up. The Fort Worth, TX native was recalled on Tuesday on an emergency basis after Kevin Poulin was injured in pre-game warmups on Tuesday night and served as the backup to Mikko Koskinen in both games this week.
