
Everblades Spit Weekend Series with 2-0 Victory over Stingrays

Estero, FL -The Florida Everblades (31-26-1-3) blanked the South Carolina Stingrays (33-23-2-2) 2-0 Saturday night to split the two-game weekend series at Germain Arena.
Stingrays goaltender Shane Owen and Everblades netminder Bobby Goepfert kept the game scoreless until the 17:15 mark of the third period when Everblades defenseman Bobby Raymond slipped a shot between the legs of Owen from the bottom of the right-wing circle. Forwards Alexandre Imbeault and Mike McKenzie earned assists. McKenzie sealed the victory with an unassisted empty-net goal at 19:25.
Owen suffered his first loss against the Everblades stopping 20 of 21 shots. Goepfert recorded his second shutout of the season blocking all 28 Stingrays chances. The Rays ended the contest 0-for-1 on the power play while the Everblades finished 0-for-3.
The Rays return to the North Charleston Coliseum on Tuesday, March 8 and Wednesday, March 9 at 7:05 p.m. against the Elmira Jackals and Cincinnati Cyclones.
