ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades (31-26-4) picked up big divisional win thanks to the goaltending of Bobby Goepfert and clutch scoring of Bobby Raymond, helping to sink the South Carolina Stingrays (33-22-4) by a score of 2-0 on Saturday night at Germain Arena.

Goepfert stepped for his second shutout of the season after turning away all 28 shots he faced, many in spectacular fashion, and Raymond came up big when it mattered scoring the eventual game-winning goal with 2:45 remaining in the third period.

Raymond's sixth goal of the season came after an icing against South Carolina and the ensuing face-off in the right circle. The Blades gained control and worked the puck behind the net where Alex Imbeault found Raymond along the right side boards. Raymond then let a shot fly along the ice that weaved through traffic and through the pads of Stingrays goalie Shane Owen.

Mike McKenzie, who also picked up an assist on Raymond's goal, then sealed the game with his 18th goal of the season into the empty South Carolina net with 35 seconds left in regulation.

Prior to the wild ending, the teams locked horns in a tightly contested affair. After a scoreless first period that saw each team ring the post and South Carolina out-shoot the Everblades 14-6, the teams also played to a scoreless second period.

The game took on a defensive look to with both clubs limited to just six shots in the middle frame, but it was the goaltenders that kept the scoresheet clean. Goepfert came up with two big saves in the later stages of the second period robbing Tommy Goebel at two different times, while Owen stood strong turning away all six Everblades shots.

The win snapped Florida's three-game winless skid and brought their record to 4-4-2 against the Stingrays this season.

Goepfert's record improved to 20-12-3 and Owen saw his record drop to 7-4-2 on the season after allowing one goal on 21 shots.
