Carrozzi Returns to Gladiators

Rookie goaltender Chris Carrozzi was reassigned to the Gwinnett Gladiators from AHL Chicago by the Atlanta Thrashers on Saturday.

With Thrashers goaltender Ondrej Pavelec fully recovered from an injury Peter Mannino was sent back to AHL Chicago from Atlanta, and Carrozzi was returned to the Gladiators.

Carrozzi, who turned 21 on March 2nd, surrendered six goals in a Wolves overtime loss to Peoria in his lone start last Tuesday. It was his first career American Hockey League tilt.

The Nepan, Ontario native capped a four-year career in juniors last season with Mississauga in the OHL where he picked up 19 wins to go with a .916 save percentage. Carrozzi was a sixth round pick (#154) in the 2008 draft by the Thrashers.

The Gladiators are the AA affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
