Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
THIS PAST WEEK:
About Last Saturday Night vs. Wheeling: A two-goal performance from Chris Reed and a strong defensive effort contributed to a 3-2 win for the Cyclones over the Nailers in front of 12,825 at U.S. Bank Arena. The attendance was the second-largest in the club's regular season history and is the third consecutive year that the Cyclones have drawn more than 12,000 fans on Throwback Night.
About Last Friday Night in Kalamazoo: A third period outburst for the Wings was just enough to rally past the Cyclones by a 5-3 final score in front of 2,156 at Wings Stadium. David MacDonald, Josh McFadden, and Zach Budish all scored for Cincinnati in the narrow defeat.
About Last Wednesday Night in Kalamazoo: Five different players found the net for the Cyclones as they trounced the Wings by a 5-2 final score in front of 3,563 at Wings Stadium on New Years Eve. Josh McFadden had a pair of points in the tilt while David Pacan, Zach Budish, Chris Reed, and Josh Shalla all lit the lamp. Goaltender Sam Brittain sparkled with 29 saves to earn the victory in net.
About Last Monday Night vs. Evansville: A three-point night for Branden Gracel highlighted a strong offensive showing for the Cyclones, who routed the IceMen by a 5-2 final score in front of 4,151 at U.S. Bank Arena. Cincinnati scored three second period goals in the span of 1:04, the fastest since November of 2012.
THIS WEEK'S GAME SCHEDULE:
Friday, January 9 at Indy, 7:35pm ET
Saturday, January 10 at Kalamazoo, 7:30pm ET
SHOTS FROM THE POINT:
Road Sweet Road: The Cyclones will play six of their next seven games away from home beginning with a pair of tilts this weekend against North Division foes. On Friday night, Cincy will invade Indy for their sixth meeting of the season at 7:35pm. Then, on Saturday night, the Clones will hook up with the Kalamazoo Wings for the second time in as many weeks with a 7:30pm opening face-off. Fans can hear both games on the Cyclones Radio Network beginning 20 minutes prior to the puck drop and WATCH the games live at the Game Time Sports Bar & Grill in Cheviot!
Secret Weapon: Cyclones defenseman Chris Reed has been on a personal tear of late. On Saturday, he posted a two-goal game for the first time in his pro career and has now notched a career-high four goals this season, more than he's had in a single season since his days in the USHL.
Packing the House: For the third year in a row, Throwback Night has proven to be a hit with the fans. Cincinnati's attendance of 12,825 last Saturday was the second-most in the club's regular season history. Only last year's Throwback Night drew more (13,237). This marks the third year in a row that the promotion has garnered more than 12,000 fans at U.S. Bank Arena.
