
Barnes Named Rookie of the Month

Toledo, OH - By scoring seven goals and collecting 10 assists, forward Tyler Barnes has been named CCM ECHL Rookie of the Month for December.
Barnes collected at least one point in 10 of the thirteen Toledo games in the month including a four point night (1G, 3A) in a 4-0 win at Indy on December 19. The native of Burnsville, Minnesota currently leads all first year players in scoring with 36 points (13G, 23A) and is tied with teammate Anthony Luciani for the team lead. Barnes scored three game-winning goals in December and has four total this year.
Prior to turning professional, the 24-year-old forward spent four seasons at the University of Wisconsin. He scored 45 goals with 58 assists in 152 games for the Badgers. Barnes picked up his first professional goals by scoring twice in a seven game appearance with San Antonio at the end of last year.
