Greenville's Missiaen Named Warrior Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Month

PRINCETON, N.J. - Jason Missiaen of the Greenville Road Warriors is the Warrior Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Month for December.

Missiaen went 6-0-1 with two shutouts, a 1.41 goals-against average and a save percentage of .957 in seven appearances during the month.

The 24-year-old, who won his final five starts in December, allowed two goals or less and made at least 31 saves in five of his seven appearances. He posted shutouts in back-to-back starts - making 22 saves in a 3-0 win at Cincinnati on Dec. 17 and stopping 21 shots in a 1-0 victory at Wheeling on Dec. 19. He made a personal season-high 42 saves on Dec. 13 in a 2-1 shootout loss at South Carolina.

Currently recalled to Hartford of the American Hockey League, Missiaen has appeared in 13 games with the Road Warriors this season posting a record of 8-4-1 with two shutouts, a 2.66 goals-against average and a save percentage of .915.

A native of Chatham, Ontario, Missiaen has seen action in 79 career games of Greenville with a record of 48-24-5 with three shutouts, a 2.72 goals-against average and a save percentage of .917. He also has 43 games of AHL experience with Hartford.

Runners Up: Pat Nagle, Fort Wayne (7-1-1, 2.31 GAA, .911 save pct.); Joel Martin, Kalamazoo (4-2-0, 1.64 GAA, .946 save pct.) and Tim Boron, Wichita (7-1-1, 2.25 GAA, .918 save pct.) .
