
Americans Costello Named CCM ECHL Player of the Month

Allen, Texas - The ECHL announced today that Allen Americans forward Chad Costello has been named the CCM ECHL Player of the Month for December, 2014.
Chad Costello had 28 points during the month of December, scoring 11 goals while adding 17 assists, to lead the Americans to a 9-1-3 record during the month, that included two power plays goals and three game winners for Allen.
"It's a great honor to be recognized twice in a few days," said Costello. He was named the ECHL AMI Graphics Plus Performer of the Month last Friday, finishing December with a plus 14. "I play on a great team with many skilled players. I'm having a lot of fun this season."
Chad Costello and his linemate Jack Combs are one and two in the league in scoring. Costello has 49 points in 30 games, while Combs has 52 points in 30 games and leads the ECHL in goals with 21.
Costello is in his eighth season as a pro and his first season with the Americans. He played in eight games with the Ontario Reign last season, scoring five points. The native of Johnston, Iowa, has played in 40 games in the American Hockey League, scoring 17 points.
In addition to Player of the Month, and Plus Performer of the Month, Costello was also named Player of the Week back in December, bringing his award total to three this season.
The Americans play Tuesday night in Missouri before returning home this weekend for back to back games against the Mavericks. Tickets are on sale at Allen Event Center Box Office or call (972) 912-1000 .
