Cincinnati Cyclones News Release

Toledo, OH- TheCincinnati Cyclones (15-6-2-0) took down the Toledo Walleye, 4-1, on Saturday night. Forwards Jesse Schultz, John Edwardh, and Justin Vaive, along with defenseman Kurt Gosselin recorded the goals for Cincinnati, who spoil Toledo's annual Teddy Bear Toss Night.

After the Walleye took a 1-0 lead after the first period on the teddy bear toss goal from forward Tyler Spezia , Cincinnati tied the game 7:56 into the second when forward Ben Johnson sent a pass up the ice to Schultz who split the defense, and skated in on a breakaway and scored to pull the Cyclones even, 1-1.

Not long after, the Cyclones power play got into the mix when Schultz sent a feed to Edwardh who snapped in a shot from the left circle to put Cincinnati ahead, 2-1. That lead became 3-1 with 12 seconds remaining in the frame when Gosselin rifled home the Cyclones' second-straight power play goal from the right side.

In the third, the Cyclones capped off the night 5:24 in when Vaive chased down his own rebound following a shot from the right side and scored to seal the Cyclones' 4-1 win. Cincinnati outshot Toledo, 36-27 on the evening, with goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen steering aside 26 for the win.

Cincinnati begins a three-game homestand on Wednesday night against the Kalamazoo Wings. Face-off is set for 7:35pm ET.
