Albany, NY (January 8, 2011) - Matt Anderson and Adam Henrique each tallied two points (1g, 1a) and Mike McKenna stopped 23 of 24 shots as the Syracuse Crunch were edged by the Albany Devils tonight by a 2-1 score at the Times Union Center.

J.P. Levasseur, making his first start in five games, denied 26 of 28 Albany shots, while Eric Lampe scored his second goal in as many nights for the Crunch in the losing effort.

The Crunch finish off their season-high seven game road trip on Friday, January 14 at Hamilton before finally returning home for a Saturday, January 15 match-up vs. Rochester.

Albany scored the game's first goal at the 11:20 mark of the first when the Devils broke in on a 2-on-1 and Anderson fed Henrique on the right side, who snapped a shot past Levasseur to give his club a 1-0 lead.

The game stayed that way until the 3:54 mark of the second when Lampe knotted the score at 1-1. Matt Kennedy took the initial shot and Lampe searched out the rebound in front of the net and quickly ripped a bid over McKenna for the equalizer.

The Crunch had a golden opportunity to take their first lead of the game early in the third period when Nick Bonino deked to his backhand getting McKenna to commit, but his shot hit off the post to keep the contest tied.

Shortly after that, Albany rushed down the ice and gained the offensive zone. This time Henrique returned the favor with a feed in front to Anderson, and Anderson beat Levasseur with a wrister to the top right corner to give Albany the 2-1 advantage.

That Crunch pulled Levasseur for the extra attacker late in the third and were awarded a 6-on-4 advantage when Stephen Gionta was called for slashing, but were unable to get the equalizer.
