Bakersfield Condors News Release

Tuesday, October 28th
On this night, the Condors and Idaho Steelheads locked horns in a heavily penalized game. It was the night of the now infamous Paul Kelly ejection, after he was kicked out of the game following a chair/water bottle/towel/goalie mask-throwing tantrum. At the time, his team trailed 2-0, but responded by scoring three straight goals and taking a lead late into the game. But with the goaltender pulled, Idaho tied up the contest. After a scoreless overtime, they would go on to beat the Condors in the shootout.
Wednesday, October 29th
With Kelly serving his suspension from the previous night's activities and Associate Coach Marty Raymond at the helm, the Condors played a strong game on Wednesday night. They outshot, out-hit and outscored Idaho 4-2 to claim their first road game of the season. Joe Watkins turned aside 18 of 20 Idaho shots to improve to 2-2 on the year, and LW Johan Astrom scored twice in his return from the injured reserve list.
Saturday, November 1st
Rookie G T.J. Aceti proved to be the Condors nemesis on Saturday night in Long Beach, as he stopped 43 shots in shutting out Bakersfield 3-0 in the Ice Dogs home opener. The Condors outshot Long Beach 43-24 and trailed 1-0 until the final minutes of the contest. Long Beach scored with just over two minutes remaining and tacked on an empty netter for the win. The Condors fell to 1-2-1 on the road, and 1-1-1 on the week.
This week
The Condors head back on the road to face the Las Vegas Wranglers on Friday night at 7:00pm. All Condors games can be heard live on KGEO AM 1230, with "Condors Countdown" starting 15 minutes prior to game time. They can also be heard online at www.bakersfieldcondors.com.
On Saturday, the team returns to home ice for their first match of the season against the Alaska Aces. That night, the Condors will don special USA Veterans Day jerseys, to be raffled off and auctioned after the game. KUZZ 107.9 sponsors the jerseys and the proceeds will benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Game time is 7:00pm and the doors will open at 6:00pm.
For Sunday evening, the Florida Everblades will come into town for the Condors first match against an East Coast opponent. The first 2,000 fans through the doors will receive a Condors pennant, sponsored by the Spanish Radio Group and Rio Bravo Country Club. Florida is in second place in the Eastern Conference Southern Division.
"The Condors Coach's Show" can be heard on KGEO AM 1230 each and every Thursday, normally live from the Holiday Inn Select. With the team departing for Vegas on Thursday, the show will be pre-recorded and air at its regular time, from 6:00-7:00pm.
