On the Power Play: The Gladiators continue to improve on the power play as they added a power play goal in Friday's 4-3 shootout win against the Everblades and scored all three goals in Saturday's 3-2 win in Florida on the man advantage to improve to 12th in the ECHL, converting on 19.0 % of their power play opportunities this season.

Killing the Opportunities: The Gladiators have been perfect on the penalty kill in their last five contests. The Gladiators were a perfect 11-for-11 over the weekend against the Everblades and 3-for-3 on the penalty kill against the Mississippi Sea Wolves on Wednesday night. The Gladiators have improved to 4th overall in the ECHL, killing off 94.3 % of their opponents power plays.

A Helping Hand: Brandon Dietrich has tallied at least one assist in each of the Gladiators last five game. He chipped in three assists in the Gladiators 5-2 win over the Mississippi Sea Wolves, had two assists in Friday's 4-3 shootout win over Florida and tallied two more in Saturday's 3-2 overtime win against the Everblades. Dietrich leads the Gladiators in assists and points with 10 through seven games this season.

Unbeaten: The Gladiators are unbeaten in their last five games and are 5-1-1 so far this season. Following a 4-1 loss to the Columbus Cottonmouths on October 19th, the Gladiators have outscored their opponents 20-12 in their last five contests including two five goal outputs.

Shooting Gallery: The Gladiators have out shot all of their opponents, except for the Florida Everblades in Saturday's 3-2 overtime win, this season. The Gladiators are in 3rd place in the ECHL in shots on goal, out shooting their opponents 263-177 this season.

Denied: Adam Munro and Michael Garnett have a combined 2.64 goals against average this season through seven games. Garnett made multiple spectacular saves for the Gladiators during regulation of Saturday's 3-2 overtime win at Florida and made a game saving stop in overtime seconds before Troy Milam's game winning goal.

Double Upped: Gladiators forward Kris Goodjohn tallied his first professional goal on a nifty backhand shot over the shoulder of Florida goaltender Rob Zepp in the first period of Friday's 4-3 shootout win against the Everblades. He added his second goal of the season later in the third period as he ripped a slap shot past Zepp from the left face off circle. Goodjohn is the only Gladiator so far this season to tally two goals in a single game.

College Night: It's College Night at the Arena at Gwinnett Center this Thursday, November 6th when the Columbus Cottonmouths come to town to take on the Gladiators. College Students, bring you College ID to the Arena at Gwinnett Center box office and get $5 Mezzanine level tickets.

Community Update:

October 29th, Gladiators 5, Mississippi 2, W

The Gladiators used three third period goals to cruise past the Mississippi Sea Wolves 5-2 at the Arena at Gwinnett Center. Mississippi jumped out to a 2-0 lead on two goals by Louis Dumont, the first at the 1:57 mark of the second period, the second four and a half minutes later. Troy Milam took a centering feed from Anthony Aquino and beat Sean Matile to cut the Mississippi lead to one goal at the 10:10 mark of the second. Anthony Aquino tied the contest up at two as he beat Matile at the 16:40 mark of the second period. The Gladiators took the lead for the first time just 43 seconds into the third period as Phil Lewandowski ripped a shot past Matile. Mike Vigilante was able to jam a puck past Matile at the 2:13 mark of the contest to give the Gladiators a 4-2 lead. Joe Bourne rounded out the scoring at the 12:53 mark as he ripped a slap shot past Matile off an offensive zone draw in the Mississippi zone. Michael Garnett made 44 saves in the win as the Gladiators again went 1-6 on the power play.

October 31st, Gladiators 4, Florida 3, SOW

The Gladiators used two goals by Kris Goodjohn and a perfect shootout round by goaltender Adam Munro to knock off the Florida Everblades 4-3 in a shootout in Estero, Florida. Florida jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals by Keith Anderson, at the 2:57 mark, and Peter Reynolds, 28 seconds later. Kris Goodjohn cut the Florida lead in half as he took an outlet pass from Anthony Aquino and sent a backhander over the shoulder of Florida net minder Rob Zepp. In a physical and chippy second period, Chad Larose pushed the Florida lead back to two goals at the 6:26 mark of the second period. A period later, Mike Vigilante cut the Florida lead back to one goal as he slipped through the slot and beat Zepp on the power play. Kris Goodjohn added his second goal of the night on a slap shot from the left face off circle that beat Zepp over the right shoulder. Kevin Doell's first round shootout goal was the winner as Anthony Aquino added another marker in the fourth round to put the shootout - and the game - away. Adam Munro denied the Everblades in every round for the win.

November 1st, Gladiators 3, Florida 2, OTW

Troy Milam tallied his second goal of the season with 2:02 left in overtime to propel the Gladiators past the Florida Everblades 3-2. Cam Brown gave the Gladiators a 1-0 lead on the power play as he took a centering feed and punched the puck past Everblades net minder Rob Zepp at the seven-minute mark. Florida tied the contest up at 1-1 just 34 seconds later on a goal by Carl Mallette. Rick Emmett regained the lead for the Gladiators as he slipped down the right wing side and was able to beat the Everblades on a back door play on the power play at the 13:01 mark of the first period. Reggie Berg tied the contest up at two goals apiece at the 12:18 mark of the second period. Troy Milam capitalized on a power play, the third time for the Gladiators in the contest, as he ripped a slap shot from the point past Zepp at the 2:58 mark of the overtime session to give the Gladiators the win.

This Week's Games:

November 6th, vs. Columbus Cottonmouths, 7:05 p.m.

Columbus leads the season series 1-0-0 following a 4-1 Cottonmouths victory in Columbus in their home opener on October 19th. The Cottonmouths were the last team to tally a power play goal against the Gladiators. The first of four home games this season against division rival Columbus.

November 7th, @ Florence Pride, 7:30 p.m.

The Gladiators battle the Pride for the first time this season. It's the only meeting against the Pride before the 1st of January. The Gladiators battle the Pride five times following January 1st. As the Mobile Mysticks, the organization is 12-9-1 all time against the Pride.

November 8th, @ Greensboro Generals, 7:30 p.m.

The Gladiators battle the Generals seven times this season, four away and three at home. This game marks the first ever match up between the Gladiators organization and the Greensboro Generals.
