Roanoke Express News Release
ROANOKE, VA - The Roanoke Express and the United States Marine Corps are teaming up this holiday season to help less fortunate children with the "Toys For Tots Teddy Bear Toss" during the Friday, November 28 game versus the Florida Everblades.
Express fans are being asked to bring a new teddy bear to the game on Friday night and toss the teddy bear onto the ice after the Express scores its first goal of the game. These bears will be collected and given to less fortunate children. Members of the U.S. Marine Corps will be on hand to help clean the ice of the teddy bears.
"We are pleased to be working with the United States Marine Corps for the fourth straight year with the 'Toys for Tots Teddy Bear Toss'," said Express general manager Chris Pollock. "We have held teddy bear tosses in the past, and as always, Express fans have been extremely generous in donating the teddy bears. We hope the residents of Roanoke come through once again this holiday season to make it brighter for some less fortunate children."
The game between the Express and the Everblades begins at 7:30 p.m., and the doors will open to the public at 6:30 p.m.
The Express' next home game is Thursday, November 27 at 7:00 p.m., versus the Greenville Grrrowl. For ticket or group outing information contact the Express at (540) 343-4500.
