THE WEEK AHEAD
Monday, November 3rd vs. South Carolina Stingrays 7:30pm Carolina Coliseum
This is the second meeting between the Inferno and Stingrays. The last time these two teams met, the Inferno beat the Rays 3-1 in Charleston on Friday, October 31st.
Friday, November 7th vs. Greenville Grrrowl 7:30pm Carolina Coliseum
The Inferno is 12-4-0 all-time against the Grrrowl and 3-0 in post-season play. This is the first of six games between the Inferno and Grrrowl. Greenville is in last place in the Southern Division with two points.
Saturday, November 8th @ Roanoke Express 7:30pm Roanoke Civic Center
The Inferno is undefeated against the Express posting a 2-0-0 all-time record. Roanoke is tied for fifth place in the Southern Division along with Charlotte and South Carolina with six points.

Thursday, October 30th Columbia 2 MISSISSIPPI 5
The Mississippi Sea Wolves revenged their Southern Conference Finals lose with a 5-2 win over your Columbia Inferno. Louis Dumont and Jeff Hutchins scored the first two goals for the Sea Wolves. At 6:05 of the second period, Derek Eastman scored on the power play from Tim Smith and Chris Pittman. The Sea Wolves built their insurmountable lead with three more goals in the next 20 minutes. Tim Smith scored the last goal for the Inferno at 17:30 of the third period on the power play. Eastman and Terry Harrison had the assist.
Friday, October 31st COLUMBIA 3 South Carolina 1
The Columbia Inferno beat the South Carolina Stingrays Friday night in Charleston 3-1. Robin Carruthers scored his third goal of the season 3:23 into the first period with passes from Tim Smith and Mike Roemensky on the power play. At 9:51, Carruthers scored his second power play goal of the night to give the Inferno a 2-0 lead. Chris Pittman and Derek Eastman had the assists. Jim Lorentz scored for the Stingrays with 1:31 left of the first period. After a scoreless second period, Corey Hessler scored his first goal of the season as Barrie Moore and Carruthers set him up with less than three minutes left in the third period. Josh Blackburn stopped 31 of 32 shots on goal for his second win of the year.
Saturday, November 1st COLUMBIA 4 Charlotte 3 (OT)
Jesse Schultz scored the game-winning goal at the four-minute mark of the overtime period to seal the victory for the Inferno off of a Derek Eastman shot. Tim Smith also had the assist. The Inferno opened the scoring only 1:59 into the first period when Terry Harrison blasted the puck through Charlotte's goaltender David St. Germain's five hole. Charlotte answered the Inferno with three consecutive goals. At the start of the third period, Barrie Moore scored his forth goal unassisted at 4:55 going top shelf. Alex Burrows and Eric Labelle fed Paul Cabana at 8:31 of the third to tie the game at three. Rob McVicar started in goal for the Inferno stopping 12 of 15 shots. Josh Blackburn came in during the second period and earned the win with 16 saves on the night.

Paul Cabana scored his first goal this season to tie the game for the Inferno on Saturday against the Charlotte Checkers...Tim Smith has seven points (2g-5a) in his last four games...Robin Carruthers had two goals and one assist in the game against the South Carolina Stingrays on Friday night...Josh Blackburn earned two wins last week, beating the Stingrays and the Checkers.
