Royals Thrash Bullies Tuesday, November 19, 2002
Reading Royals 7 @ ATLANTIC CITY BOARDWALK BULLIES 1
In the Bullies' worst loss at home in its short history, the Reading Royals defeated the Atlantic City club, 7-1. J.F. Caudron scored the Bullies' lone goal, assisted by Scott Matzka and Steve Munn. Reading's Tom Rouleau scored a natural hat trick on three consecutive goals, including one on a power play, in the second period. Royals netminder Scott Fankhouser stopped 34 Bullies shots, while Matt Yeats and Scott Stirling split time between the pipes for the Bullies. Yeats took the loss, allowing three goals in 25:33 of playing time, and Stirling gave up four; two in the second period and two in the third.

After nearly two and a half periods of scoreless play, the Boardwalk Bullies turned on the offense and managed to beat the Greensboro Generals by a final of 4-2. Generals' Shane Campbell and Pete Gardiner each tallied a first period goal to put the Generals on top, 2-0, for most of the game. Bullies' rookie Jim Henkel scored the first Bullies goal at the 9:07 mark of the third period. Less than three minutes later, J.F. Caudron netted his eighth goal of the year and Henkel followed with his second goal of the night and the game winner. Bullies' leader in assists, Paul Spadafora, chipped in an empty-net goal with 21 seconds left in the game. Matt Yeats made 31 saves, including all 11 in the final frame, and improved to 6-4-2.
BULLIES BITES
Scott Stirling, who was loaned to the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks in the American Hockey League Wednesday, returned to the Bullies today...Stirling's call-up was the goalie's second trip to the AHL this season...Friday rookie goalie Matt Yeats was loaned to the Philadelphia Phantoms and remains with the AHL club...Josh Steel of Steel's Fudge in Atlantic City joined the Bullies as an emergency backup netminder...Recent acquisition Shawn Maltby made his Bullies debut Thursday in Greensboro where the gritty forward racked up 17 penalty minutes, including a game misconduct penalty...Kevin Colley continues to lead the Bullies with 19 points on 11 goals and eight assists...Rookie Jim Henkel leads the Bullies in plus-minus with a +9.
