
Blades Win Two, Lose Two on Four-Game Road Trip

The Florida Everblades won the first two games of their four game road trip 3-2 in Columbus and 4-1 in Greenville this past week but then dropped their next two contests this past weekend 5-1 in Charlotte on Friday and 5-3 in Greensboro on Saturday. The Everblades host the Pee Dee Pride this Friday and Saturday night at TECO Arena. The puck drops at 7:30 PM for both nights. All 72 regular season games can be heard on Sportsradio 770 AM, NewsRadio 1660 AM and on the Internet at www.floridaeverblades.com with the "Voice of the Everblades" Mark Miller calling the play-by-play. Listen to the 'The Gerry Fleming Coaches Show' presented by Stevie Tomato's Sportspage on Sportsradio 770 AM every Monday night from 6:30-7:30 PM. Tonight's show will be on remote at the Fort Myers location with special guest captain Tom Buckley.
UP NEXT AT TECO ARENA On November 29 & 30 the Everblades host the Pee Dee Pride. Friday night fans are encouraged to bring an item to donate to Goodwill. Saturday night is Ladies night. GAME NOTES: The Everblades and Pride will meet for the fifth time this season. The Everblades are 1-2-1 versus Pee Dee this year and 1-0-1 at TECO Arena. Pee Dee currently ranks tied for 2nd in the Southeast Division standings while Florida ranks in 5th place. Florida holds a 13-17-3 record all-time against the Pride and a 9-6-2 record at TECO. Pee Dee forward Matt Reid leads the Pride in scoring with 6-23-29. Reid ranks second on the ECHL scoring list. His 23 assists leads the ECHL. Florida goaltender Rob Zepp is currently ranked first in the ECHL in goals against average with 1.98 and he is second in the ECHL in save percentage with a .936 SPCT. The Pride power play ranks 13th in the ECHL and their penalty kill ranks 11th. The Everblades power play currently ranks 24th in the ECHL and their penalty kill ranks 13th.

Tuesday, November 19th @ Columbus 3-2 W The Greensboro Generals defeated the Florida Everblades 5-3 in front 4,748 at the Greensboro Coliseum.
Thursday, November 21st @ Greenville 4-1 W
Rob Zepp stopped 30 of 31 shots as the Florida Everblades defeated the Greenville Grrrowl 4-1 in front of 4,056 at the BI-LO Center.
Friday, November 22nd @ Charlotte 1-5 L
The Charlotte Checkers scored four times on the power play and defeated the Florida Everblades 5-1 in front of 5,069 at the Cricket Arena.
Saturday, November 23rd @ Greensboro 3-5 L
The Greensboro Generals defeated the Florida Everblades 5-3 in front 4,748 at the Greensboro Coliseum.
ECHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINATION: The Everblades ECHL player of the week nomination is forward Don Smith. The Buffalo, NY native registered two assists in the Everblades 3-2 win this past Tuesday night. For his efforts on Tuesday night he was awarded the second star of the game. Smith also added a goal in the Everblades 4-1 win over Greenville this past Thursday.
ECHL GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK NOMINATION: The Everblades ECHL goaltender of the week nomination is Rob Zepp. The Newmarket, Ontario native was 2-1-0 this past week. On Tuesday night, he stopped 30 of 32 shots on goal in the Everblades 3-2 win. On Thursday, Zepp picked up his 7th win of the season and was named the second star of the game. Zepp is currently ranked first in the ECHL in goals against average with 1.98.
EVERBLADES IN THE COMMUNITY: On Monday, November 25th two players will be reading to students at Golden Gate Elementary at 1:15 PM and two players will speak to students at Villas Elementary at 12:45 PM. On Tuesday, November 26th two players and Swampee will speak at an assembly at Orangewood Elementary at 12:30 PM. On Monday, December 2nd 2 players will speak to the students at Pelican Marsh Elementary at 1:30 PM. On Tuesday, December 3rd, two players will speak to the students at Pinewoods Elementary at 12:00 PM.
