Balan Recalled by Norfolk

ROANOKE, VA – Roanoke Express defenseman Scott Balan has been recalled to the American Hockey League by the Norfolk Admirals, it was announced today by Express Head Coach Perry Florio. Balan, who has played two stints with the Express this season, appeared in two games for Roanoke this past weekend at Trenton and at Richmond. Overall, the 20-year-old Red Deer, Alberta native has appeared in seven games with the Express this season and has two points.

Balan, a 4th-round draft pick by the Chicago Blackhawks in 2000, has played in four games in two stints with the Admirals. The move was necessitated because of an injury with the Blackhawks, bringing Chicago to promote Balan.
