
'Blades see Johner assigned from Panthers

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades President & General Manager Craig Brush, along with Head Coach Gerry Fleming announced today that forward Dustin Johner has been assigned to the team from the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League.
Johner, who was acquired by the Panthers in a trade with the Calgary Flames earlier today, joins the Everblades after skating in eight games with the Las Vegas Wranglers of the ECHL recording four points (2g, 2a) and eight penalty minutes. Johner also appeared in five games this season with the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights of the American Hockey League.
In 2004-05, The Sylvan Lake Alberta native led Las Vegas with 48 points (22g, 26a) in 51 games. The former 6th round draft pick of the Florida Panthers in 2001 also spent 23 games in the AHL with the Lowell Lock Monsters last season, notching 12 points (4g, 8a). Johner made his professional debut in 2003-04 with the South Carolina Stingrays, skating in four games, collecting six points.
Prior to turning pro, Johner spent five seasons at the junior level in the Western Hockey League with the Seattle Thunderbirds where he compiled in 272 points in 291 games from 1999-2004.
