Las Vegas, NV - Las Vegas Wranglers were defeated 2-1 in overtime by the Idaho Steelheads on Friday night in front of 7,341 fans at the Orleans Arena. Former Wrangler Garett Bembridge scored the game-winning goal with 1:09 remaining in overtime, lifting the Steelheads to victory. Idaho goaltender Steve Silverthorn made 43 saves for the victory. Wranglers' forward Steve Crampton scored the lone goal for Las Vegas, who fell to 8-0-1 at home this season. The same two teams will faceoff again at 7:05 pm on Saturday night.
After a scoreless first period, Idaho scored the first the first goal of the night when Brad Thompson pushed in a rebound at 4:43 of the second period. Las Vegas countered to tie the game at one, as Matt Dzeiduszycki set up Steve Crampton at 13:22, for Crampton's fourth goal of the season.
With 1:09 remaining in overtime, Garett Bembridge beat Las Vegas goalie Marc Magliarditi for his league-leading 14th goal of the season, giving the Steelheads the 2-1 victory.
Saturday night, Balloon Man will perform during the intermissions. From 4:30-6:30 pm fans may attend the Port of Subs pre-game party in the parking lot of the Orleans Arena. Fans are encouraged to bring coats and clothing for a clothing drive for Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Las Vegas. Fans can bring the items to the Port of Subs Pre-game party.
