
Wranglers lead ECHL at All-Star break

Las Vegas Wranglers News Release
Las Vegas, NV- The Las Vegas Wranglers posted a 1-0-1 record this past week with a 3-2 shootout loss in Phoenix on Thursday night and a 5-3 win in San Diego on Friday night.
This week the Wranglers will enjoy a few days off for the All-Star break before starting the second half of the season with three games in Boise, ID. Friday, Saturday, and next Monday night Las Vegas will visit the Idaho Steelheads at 6:10 pm (PST). Las Vegas will play a total of five games on the road before returning home to play the Alaska Aces on Tuesday, February 7th.

Las Vegas 2 at Phoenix 3 SO
Phoenix, AZ - The Las Vegas Wranglers were defeated by the Phoenix Roadrunners 3-2 in a shootout at the U.S. Airways Center on Thursday night. Forwards Matt Dzieduszycki and Sean O'Connor each scored in the Wranglers' first shootout loss of the season. Phoenix forward J.F. Soucy scored twice, including the game-tying goal with 30 seconds remaining in the game. Goalie Marc Magliarditi made 40 saves, but suffered the shootout loss. Phoenix goalie Mike Mole made 28 saves in the game and stopped all four Wranglers in the shootout for the victory.
Friday, January 20th
Las Vegas 5 at San Diego 3
San Diego, CA - The Las Vegas Wranglers beat the San Diego Gulls 5-3 at the I-Pay-One Center on Friday night. Forwards Steve Crampton and Matt Dzieduszycki each registered four points as Las Vegas moved to 3-0-0 against San Diego this season. Dzieduszycki had two goals and two assists and Crampton scored once while dishing out three assists. Winger Thomas Bellemare also scored a goal and added an assist.
Peluso and Magliarditi Added to All-Star Roster
Both left wing Marco Peluso and goalie Marc Magliarditi were added to the National Conference All-Star Team for the 2006 ECHL All-Star Game, presented by Bud Light, on Wednesday, January 25th at 7:05 pm. Magliardti and Peluso will both make their first ever all-star game appearance on Wednesday. Magliarditi replaces teammate Mike McKenna and Peluso replaces Bakersfield's Alexandre Buldoc. Wranglers' defenseman Tim Hambly will not participate and has been replaced by Long Beach defenseman Steeve Villeneuve. Las Vegas goalie Mike McKenna signed with the Norfolk Admirals of the AHL on Sunday. McKenna made his AHL debut with a 4-3 shootout victory and 39 saves yesterday.
Magliarditi will head to the All-Star Game with a league-leading 18 wins. Overall, Magliarditi is 18-5-3 with a 2.19 goals against average and a .920 save percentage. Peluso has six goals and 12 assists for 18 points in 28 games, as well as racking up 53 penalty minutes. Wranglers General Manager / Head Coach Glen Gulutzan will coach the National Conference team. Las Vegas Athletic Trainer Mike Hannegan, ATC will work the National Conference bench.

Las Vegas has the second highest winning percentage in the ECHL at .800. Las Vegas is tied for the league lead with 30 wins and first overall with 64 points and 17 home victories. The team also has the fewest losses in regulation at home (1) and is tied for the fewest losses in the league (6). This is the latest in the season the team has had fewer than 10 losses. Center Matt Dzieduszycki is second in the ECHL with a +25. Las Vegas is 24-2-3 (.853 winning percentage) since November 19th.

Idaho Steelheads - (22-14-3, 47 Points) - The Wranglers are 1-0-1 against the Steelheads this season, outscoring Idaho 7-4. Idaho is 10-9-2 at home this season and 3-6-1 in their last 10 games played. All-Star winger Garrett Bembridge leads the ECHL in scoring with 32 goals and 26 assists for 58 points in 39 games played. Las Vegas is 8-8-5 against Idaho all-time. The Steelheads are 8-1-1 against Las Vegas at the Bank of America Centre all-time.
