
Jake Moreland Selected to ECHL All-Star Game

STOCKTON, Calif. - Stockton Thunder goaltender Jake Moreland has been selected to the National Conference All-Star team for the 2006 ECHL All-Star Game presented by Bud Light, the ECHL announced today.
Moreland, making his first all-star appearance, has compiled a .905 save percentage and 3.32 goals-against-average in 19 games (4-11-3 record) for the Thunder in 2005-06. He has also collected two shutouts this season, including a 22-save performance against the Phoenix RoadRunners on December 10, a 4-0 Thunder win on Stockton Arena's opening night.
Moreland fills a roster spot on the National Conference team with recent promotions of Alaska goalie Chris Beckford-Tseu (St. Louis Blues, NHL) and Las Vegas Wranglers netminder Mike McKenna (Norfolk Admirals, AHL). Moreland collected his second shutout on January 8, making 45 stops in a 1-0 road win over Phoenix.
With his selection, the Thunder has two representatives on the National Conference team. Rookie left wing Mike Lalonde was also selected.
The All-Star Game will take place on January 25 at Save Mart Center in Fresno, California at 7 p.m. PT. The All-Star festivities will also include a skills competition to be held at Save Mart Center, taking place on January 24 at 7 p.m. PT.
The game will be televised on January 26, viewable on OLN from 2-4 p.m. PT, and on Comcast SportsNet West at 10:30 p.m. PT (check local listings). XM Radio carries live radio coverage beginning at 7 p.m. PT on HOME ICE XM 204.
The Thunder returns to play with a 7:35 p.m. PT road faceoff against the San Diego Gulls on Friday at iPayOne Center. The game can be heard live on the internet (free-of-charge) and is available for viewing at a $6 "pay-per-view" fare at www.stocktonthunder.com, courtesy of B-2 Networks.
