Johnstown Chiefs News Release
The Johnstown Chiefs (15-17-8) went 1-2-0 last week, briefly returning to .500 before a pair of road losses on Friday and Saturday. The Chiefs beat the Reading Royals in Johnstown on Wednesday, 5-1. On Friday, the Chiefs lost a third period lead, losing in Toledo, 6-4. On Saturday, the Chiefs allowed two goals in the final 1:01 of the second period en route to a 7-2 loss. The Chiefs travel to Dayton this Friday, followed by a stop in Wheeling on Saturday.

Game #37 (1/18/06) JOHNSTOWN 5 - Reading 1 Cey 33 Saves The Johnstown Chiefs surged to a 3-0 lead and never looked back. Randy Rowe had three points, including two goals. Doug Andress had a goal, including the game winner, and three assists. Justin Kelly also added a goal and an assist, as Morgan Cey was brilliant in net, stopping 33 of 34. The win propelled the Chiefs back to .500 at 15-15-8.
Game #38 (1/20/06) TOLEDO 6 - Johnstown 4 Boutin 30 saves Dmitri Tarabrin and Randy Rowe each had two goals and two assists through two periods, as the Chiefs led 4-3 going into the third period. However, it was not enough as Toledo rallied for three in the third, capped off by a B.J. Adams empty net goal. Toledo's Chris Blight had the hat trick and two assists. Justin Kelly was the only other Chief to register a point, adding an assist.
Game #39 (1/21/06) READING 7 - Johnstown 2 Cey 27 saves The Chiefs were step for step with the Royals for 39 minutes. The Royals scored a pair of goals in the final 1:01 of period two, for a commanding 5-2 lead. The Royals cruised to a 7-2 win. Randy Rowe added an assist giving him four goals and four assists in his last three games. Justin Kelly and Jean Desrochers had the Johnstown goals.
