Wranglers Finish 5-3-2 on Ten-Game Road Trip

Las Vegas, NV- The Las Vegas Wranglers posted an 0-1-1 record this past week with both defeats coming in Idaho. Las Vegas fell 3-2 in a shootout at Idaho on Friday night. Saturday night the Wranglers were defeated 4-2 in Boise.

This week, Las Vegas returns home to the Orleans Arena for the first time since Saturday, November 20th. Tuesday night's game with Greenville will be the first home game in 23 days and will start a five-game home stand. Thursday and Friday, Las Vegas will host the Bakersfield Condors. All games start at 7:05 pm.

Las Vegas 2 at Idaho 3 SO

Boise, ID – The Las Vegas Wranglers were defeated by the Idaho Steelheads 3-2 in a shootout at the Bank of America Centre on Friday night. Idaho's Frank Lukes' shootout attempt trickled past Wranglers' goalie Marc Magliarditi in a sudden death shootout for the win. Forwards Dustin Johner and Dan Tudin each scored for Las Vegas in the loss. Idaho's Darrell Hay and Warren Peters scored for the Steelheads who moved into sole possession of second place in the west division. The Wranglers still earned a point in the standings, tying Alaska for third in the division. Magliarditi made 36 saves in the loss, while Idaho's Frank Doyle made 30 saves for the Steelheads.

Saturday, December 11th

Las Vegas 2 at Idaho 4

Boise, ID – The Las Vegas Wranglers were defeated by the Idaho Steelheads 4-2 at the Bank of America Centre on Saturday night. Idaho's Scott Burt scored the game-winning goal with 8:22 left to help the Steelheads sweep the Wranglers in a two-game set this weekend. Despite two goals by rookie Dana Lattery, the Wranglers fell to 1-2-1 against the Steelheads this season. Idaho's Landon Bathe added a goal and an assist in the win. Steelheads' goalie Frank Doyle notched his ECHL league-leading 12th win of the season with 32 saves. Wranglers' netminder Sebastien Centomo made 22 saves on 25 Steelheads shots, falling to 5-4-1 on the season.

Greenville Grrrowl – (10-11-3)

First Ever Meeting

The Grrrowl started their first trip out west with a 4-3 shootout win in Fresno last Tuesday. Greenville followed with a 4-2 loss in Long Beach Friday. Saturday night, Greenville won 4-3 in Bakersfield and Sunday they lost 3-2 in Fresno. The Grrrowl conclude their West division trip with the Wranglers on Tuesday. The team features the ECHL's leading scorer, Carl Mallette. The second-year pro leads the league with 30 points and 15 goals. Fellow teammate Martin St. Pierre is second on the team in scoring with 27 points, and is tied for the ECHL lead with 20 assists. Greenville goalies, Mike Brodeur and Mike Morrisson, have combined for a 3.00 goals against average and .914 save percentage.

Bakersfield Condors – (13-4-3) –

Bakersfield leads the Season Series 1-0-0

The Condors come to Las Vegas for the first time this season and with the best record in the ECHL. Bakersfield has struggled in their last ten games posting a 4-4-2 record after a 9-0-1 start. The Condors lead the ECHL with 76 goals. Forward Kevin St. Jacques leads the team in scoring with six goals and 18 assists in 20 games played. Guy Dupuis is second in the ECHL for scoring among defensemen with 17 points (4G-13A) in 20 games.

What A Long Strange Trip It's Been

The Wranglers finished a string of ten straight games on the road. The Wranglers spent 18 days, over 80 hours and some 14,200 miles traveling. The team made stops in all but one of the five U.S time zones, skipping Hawaiian time. The Wranglers made stops in Lafayette, LA, Beaumont, TX, Biloxi, MS, Pensacola, FL, Estero, FL, Anchorage, AK and Boise, ID. Over the span, the Wranglers posted a 5-3-2 record including two overtime wins and a shootout win.

MIDNIGHT GAME ON THE HORIZON

The Wranglers made professional hockey history last year when they hosted the Bakersfield Condors in the first-ever Midnight Hockey Game. This year the Wranglers will hold their annual midnight game on Monday, December 20th against the Fresno Falcons
