Lynx Re-Sign Schmidt, Release Rivard
December 13, 2004 - ECHL (ECHL)
Augusta Lynx News Release
The Augusta Lynx announced today that they have waived forward Ryan Rivard, and re-signed forward Matt Schmidt to the team.
Schmidt, who was waived prior to Saturday's game against Charlotte, has appeared in 19 games for the team this season, recording one goal and four points over that span. The rookie forward also has no PIMs and an even rating over that span. He scored his first goal as a pro November 13th against Charlotte, the beginning of a three game point scoring streak.
Rivard, 23, was recalled from the Macon Traxx of the Southern Professional Hockey League for the game, and showed a willingness to drop the gloves and play hard. Picking up five PIMs in the game, Rivard also managed one shot on goal as well. He returned to Macon after the game.
The Lynx are back in action this Friday and Saturday night in Ft. Myers, Florida when they take on the Everblades. Both games are slated for 7:30 pm starts, with the pre-game show kicking off at 7:05 pm with Tom Callahan on NEWSTALKSPORTS 1630. The Lynx will next play at home on Thursday, December 30th against the South Carolina Stingrays at 7:05 pm. Tickets are $10, $13, and $14, with discounts available for seniors, students, military personnel, and Comcast cable subscribers! Call (706) 724-4ICE, or stop by any TicketMaster location, including on line at www.TicketMaster.com to purchase seats.
