STORM NOTES
- Paolini to the Front! On the strength of his four point weekend, Sam Paolini has taken over as the Storm leader in points with 7 goals and 12 assists (19 points). Tyler Knight is the goal-scoring leader with 8, and Nick Parillo is the team leader in assists with 14.
- Koopmans! Logan Koopmans started both games over the weekend for Toledo, and has started seven of the last nine contests. Over that time, Logan has a record of 4-3-0 with a 2.12 GAA, and a .922 save percentage.
- Shoot the Puck! The Storm has a record of 8-4-1 when having more shots than the opponent, and the Storm is averaging 33.65 shots per game.
- Surprisingly! Heading into the two games this past weekend, Toledo had not lost a game when leading after one period of play (5-0-0). Toledo led 1-0 Friday, and 2-1 Saturday after the first, but lost both contests.
- Toledo is 5-5-0 at home and 4-3-3 on the road this year.
- Toledo's power play unit ranks 18TH in the ECHL with 14 power play goals in 97 chances (14.4%).
- The penalty kill unit of Toledo went 9 for 12 over the weekend and has allowed just 14 goals in 93 chances against this season (84.9%). That is 13th in the ECHL.
STORM WATCH
- On Tuesday night, it is another edition of the Toledo Storm Coach's Show. Andrew Oke will join Head Coach Nick Vitucci this week and the voice of the Storm Matt Melzak live at the Bronze Boar from 6-7pm. The Boar is located at 20 South Huron Street. The Coach's Show can be heard live on Fox Sports Radio 1230.
- Toledo will be back in action this Friday night when it travels to Peoria for a date against the Rivermen. Toledo is 2-2-0 against the Rivermen this season, but did win the last game in Peoria 1-0. Tyler Knight has a goal and two assists against the Rivermen this year. The Rivermen have won four in a row.
- Saturday night the Storm will return home to take on the Reading Royals. This is the first of nine contests this season against the Royals. Toledo has a 5-4-2 all-time record against Reading, including 2-3-1 last season. Judd Medak, who has five goals and 14 assists on the year, leads the Royals.
- Sunday afternoon in the Sports Arena, Toledo and Reading will go at it again. Following that contest is the second Post-Game Skate of the year, so bring your skates to skate with the Storm!
STORM PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINATION:
Sam Paolini (3 goals - 1 assist = 4 points)
Sam had two goals Friday night, and added a third Saturday. Saturday's goal was shorthanded. Paolini has five multiple point contests this year.
STORM GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK NOMINATION:
Logan Koopmans (0-2-0, 8GA & 50SV)
Logan started both contests against Trenton making some big saves in both contests.
