Fresno Falcons Weekly

December 13, 2004 - ECHL (ECHL)
Fresno Falcons News Release

LAST WEEK'S RECORD: 2-1-1 OVERALL RECORD: 9-10-2, 20 pts.

December 7 vs. Greenville, 4-3 Shootout Loss - The Falcons allowed a 3-1 late-second period lead slip away before losing in a shootout to the Grrrowl.

December 10 vs. Bakersfield, 5-4 Shootout Win - In their first meeting at home against the West-Division leading Condors, the Falcons erupted for three goals in a 2:14 span of the first period off the sticks of Mike Kiesman, Sam Ftorek and Jan Sochor. Like Greenville, though, Bakersfield wouldn't go away and Fresno found themselves battling for two points in a shootout. Simon Mangos and Dan Tessier both scored in the shootout to deliver the victory.

December 11 @ Long Beach, 3-0 Loss - A week after shutting out the Long Beach Ice Dogs, 5-0, at Long Beach Arena for their first road victory of the year, Fresno had the tables turned on them by the Ice Dogs. The Falcons couldn't make it two straight away from home and were shutout themselves for the second time this season.

December 12 vs. Greenville, 3-2 Win - Trailing 1-0 after 20 minutes, Dan Tessier, Derek Krestanovich and Sam Ftorek all scored in the second period to give Fresno a 3-1 lead heading into the third. The Grrrowl would creep to within a goal, but unlike their previous two games at home last week, the Falcons hung on for the win in regulation.

THIS WEEK'S UPCOMING GAMES

Tuesday, Dec. 14 vs. Long Beach, 7 p.m. - The Falcons try to keep alive an eight-game home-unbeaten streak when they welcome the Long Beach Ice Dogs to town for the first time this season. Friday, Dec. 17 vs. Idaho, 7 p.m. - The defending Kelly Cup Champion Idaho Steelheads make their final regular season visit to Save Mart Center. Celebrate an Hawaiian Christmas with the Falcons, as they will be wearing Hawaiian Christmas specialty jerseys, which will be auctioned off after the game to benefit Community Food Bank.
