"Wolves Ultimate Broomball" Returns on April 9
April 4, 2006 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Chicago Wolves News Release
The Chicago Wolves will host the rematch of "Wolves Ultimate Broomball," pitting The Eric and Kathy Morning Show on 101.9 FM The Mix against Paul Konrad, Robin Baumgarten, Larry Potash, Marcella Raymond and a team from the WGN TV Morning News during the first intermission when the Wolves face off against the Iowa Stars on Sun., April 9, at 3 p.m.
Last season, the WGN TV Morning News squad edged The Eric and Kathy Morning Show in the eight-minute grudge match.
"The WGN morning team is made up of players that no one else has ever wanted," said Konrad, weatherman on the WGN TV Morning News. "We are a group of average players who believe in teamwork over individual accomplishments. We are strong, optimistic and courageous. I predict a devastating loss to that pansy Eric and his gaggle of homely mistresses."
"Shockingly, the WGN Morning Show has finally gotten something right," said Eric Ferguson, co-host of The Eric and Kathy Morning Show.
The Wolves will auction several items at the game courtesy of 101.9 The Mix, including a hockey stick and a hat signed by the entire morning show (Eric, Kathy, Melissa McGurren, Swany, Cynthia and Barry Keefe), and a pair of tickets to the sold-out Fall Out Boy concert at the UIC Pavilion on Wed., April 19.
The auction will take place at the Customer Service Booth in the East Lobby of the Allstate Arena starting when doors open for the game at 2 p.m., and end at the conclusion of the second intermission. Proceeds will benefit various Chicago-area charities.
Select players from both teams will participate in some of the in-arena promotions, which includes having Ferguson and Konrad - captains of their respective teams - each participate in a ceremonial puck drop before the Wolves game.
