
Knights and Flames swap players

Omaha, NE - The Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights announced today that the Calgary Flames, their National Hockey League affiliate, have recalled left wing Lynn Loyns. It is Loyns' first recall to Calgary this season. In addition, the Flames re-assigned right wing sen GermynOmaha. He will join the Knights in Chicago in time for their game against the Chicago Wolves on Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m.
Loyns has played in 64 games with the Knights, scoring nine goals and eight assists for 17 points. He also has 50 penalty minutes. Loyns scored the first penalty shot goal in Ak-Sar-Ben Knights' history, tallying at Cleveland on January 25th. He played in 77 games with the Lowell Lock Monsters during the 2004-05 season, scoring seven goals and eight assists with 42 penalty minutes. In 33 career NHL games with the Flames and the San Jose Sharks, Loyns has posted five points (3 goals, 2 assists) and 21 penalty minutes. The Flames acquired the Calgary resident from San Jose on January 9, 2004 in exchange for a fifth round choice in the 2004 Entry Draft.
Germyn played in two games with the Flames earning no points in his first NHL recall. He returns to the Knights tied for second in team scoring with 22 goals and 26 assists for 48 points. He also has 117 penalty minutes. His goal total leads the team. He also has a team-leading five game-winning goals, and is third on the team with ten powerplay goals. He registered the Knights' only hat trick of the season back on October 28th against Chicago. In that game, he scored a team season high three powerplay goals.
Germyn is now in his third pro season. Last year, he scored nine goals and 20 points in 60 games with the Lowell. As a rookie, the native of Campbell River, British Columbia had eleven goals and 27 points for the Norfolk Admirals (AHL). Germyn was signed as a free agent by Calgary on July 6, 2004.
Following Wednesday's game in Chicago, the Knights return home for the final two regular season home games. On Friday, they'll play their biggest game of the year when they host the Iowa Stars at 7:00 p.m. The Knights and Stars begin the week tied for the final playoff spot in the West Division. On Saturday, the Knights will welcome the Peoria Rivermen for a 7:00 p.m. face-off.
Congressman Tom Osborne will be on hand Saturday to meet fans from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. and then drop the puck prior to the game. It's also Nebraska Lottery Night. The first 1,000 fans 19 and older will receive a free scratch ticket from the Nebraska Lottery. Anyone who brings a non-winning lottery ticket to the game can purchase a ticket for just $10.
Tickets for all home games are available at the Civic Auditorium box office, Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The box office is open through the opening face-off on game nights.
