Connecticut Whale News Release
The Hartford Wolf Pack played three games in three days this past week, winning two of the three match-ups and ending the week at 44-22-2-6, for 96 points, remaining eight points behind Atlantic Division leader the Portland Pirates. On Friday night, the Pack traveled to Springfield, defeating the Falcons 9-3. During this match-up, center Dwight Helminen scored his first professional hat trick and ended the night at +5. Left wing Nigel Dawes also tallied five points for the Pack, netting one goal and four assists. Then on Saturday night, the two teams faced off in a heated rematch in Hartford. In the end, the Pack came out on top with a hard-earned 5-3 win. However, on Sunday, the Pack faced a disappointing 3-2 loss to the Norfolk Admirals at home. Defenseman Marvin Degon scored his first professional goal during the game and center Alexandre Giroux tallied a goal and assist; however, in the end, it was not enough to defeat the Admirals, assisted by solid goaltending from Corey Crawford, who stopped 32 of 34 Wolf Pack shots.
