Walter Called Up to Boston

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins, member of the American Hockey League, announced that the Boston Bruins have recalled from loan center Ben Walter. Walter will be with Boston tonight when they host the Los Angeles Kings at the TD Banknorth Garden at 7 p.m.

Walter is in his rookie season with the Bruins. In 28 games this season for Providence, Walter has 29 points (7g, 15a) and is +1. The Vancouver, British Columbia native spent the past three seasons at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell where he recorded 90 points (49g, 41a) and 58 PIM in 107 games. Last season he led Hockey East in goals (26), including three hat tricks and tied for ninth in points (39). Walter was the Bruins' fifth pick, 160th overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

The P-Bruins continue their road trip Friday, January 13 at the Portland Pirates, Saturday, January 14 against the Lowell Lock Monsters and Sunday, January 15 at the Manchester Monarchs. The P-Bruins return home to the Dunkin' Donuts Center Friday, January 20 to face the Hartford Wolf Pack at 7:05 p.m. The first 4,000 fans will receive FREE Providence Bruins hats courtesy of your Rhode Island Lottery.
