WINNIPEG, Manitoba - Prestin Ryan scored the game winning goal on a power play 1:34 into the third period to push the Manitoba Moose to an eventual 3-1 win over the Philadelphia Phantoms at Manitoba's MTS Centre on Friday night.

The Phantoms started out the scoring just under seven minutes into the game when Stefan Ruzicka netted his eighth goal of the year off a feed from Tony Voce. The 1-0 advantage stood through the first intermission and more than halfway through the second period.

However, at 13:48 of the middle stanza, the Phantoms suffered a snakebite. Manitoba's Lee Goren was carrying the puck down the right side on an odd-man rush when he tried to play a centering pass to a teammate on the left wing. But the puck hit a Phantoms defenseman in the skate and slid through the legs of goaltender Martin Houle, tying the game at 1-1.

Ryan's game-winner came on a man-advantage that carried over from a late second-period Phantoms penalty. He took a pass from Ryan Bayda and blasted a slapshot low to Houle's blocker side. The Moose iced the game with 30 seconds left with a shot into a vacant net.

Philadelphia managed just 15 shots on net in the contest, a season low. Moose goaltender Wade Flaherty turned aside 14 of those chances. Houle stopped 24 of the 26 shots he faced on the evening.

The Phantoms will look to leave Canada with a split after tomorrow night's rematch with the Moose at the MTS Centre. The game begins at 8:30 and will be available for viewing on the B2 Networks through the Phantoms website, www.phantomshockey.com.

Philadelphia will return home to face the Hershey Bears on Friday, Jan. 20 at 7:05 pm. As always, kids tickets for all Phantoms games are just $8.00. Purchase on line at phantomshockey.com or to charge by phone, call (215) 336-2000, (856) 338-9000 or (302) 984-2000.
