San Antonio defeats Toronto in OT

San Antonio - San Antonio Rampage forward Martin Sonnenberg came through in overtime to give the Rampage their first win after eight consecutive losses defeating the Toronto Marlies 4-3 in overtime Friday night at the AT&T Center. The Rampage tallied their 12th win of the season in front of 5,162 for "Salute the Badges Night" honoring local law enforcement and firefighters.

Rampage center Mike Bishai extended his point-streak to four games with San Antonio's first goal of the night 7:28 in the opening period. Tim Jackman and Chris McAllister were credited with the assists on Bishai's goal.

Jackman, who rejoined the team after playing in eight games with the Phoenix Coyotes, gave San Antonio a 2-0 lead to start off the second period at the 3:30 mark. Layne Ulmer and Sonnenberg were given the assists as Ulmer extends his point-streak to three games totaling one goal and two assists. Toronto's Brad Leeb ended David LeNeveu's shutout bid scoring a goal at the 8:07 mark in the second period. Five minutes later, Marlies' forward Kris Newbury tied the score at 2-2 with a power-play goal.

Rampage forward Pavel Brendl extended his point-streak to four games with a power-play goal at the 4:30 mark to kick off the third period as Pascal Rheaume and Eric Chouinard each extended their point-streaks to two games with assists on the goal. Toronto forward Martin Saget forced the game into overtime tying the score 3-3 with 6:08 left in regulation.

Ulmer helped Sonnenberg collect his 10th goal of the season to win the game in overtime for the Rampage bringing their record to 12-24-1-1.

The Rampage will face the Houston Aeros at the Toyota Center on Sunday at 5:05 p.m.
