Leahy Assigned to Providence, Robinson Recalled to Boston

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins, member of the American Hockey League, announced that the Boston Bruins have loaned right wing Pat Leahy to the P-Bruins and recalled from loan center Nathan Robinson. Leahy is expected to be in the P-Burins lineup Friday, January 13 to face the Portland Pirates at the Cumberland County Civic Center at 7:05 p.m.

Leahy is entering his fifth professional season and fourth in the Bruins' organization. In 20 games this season with Boston he has six points (4g, 2a) and 11 PIM. Last season, the Duxbury, Massachusetts native played 38 games for Providence, tallying 15 points (1g, 14a) and 18 PIM. During the 2003-04 season, Leahy had 30 points (14g, 16a) and 37 PIM in 55 games with Providence, while making his NHL debut with Boston on December 6, 2003 versus the Philadelphia Flyers. The 2002-03 season was Leahy's first with Providence where he recorded 43 points (20g, 23a) and 63 PIM in 66 games. He set career highs in goals, assists and points, while finishing fifth on the Bruins in scoring. His +14 rating was second highest on the team. Before joining the Bruins, Leahy played in the 2002 Calder Cup Finals as a rookie with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers and was the New York Rangers fifth pick (fifth round), 122nd overall, in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.

Robinson is entering his fourth professional season. In 36 games this season with Providence he is second on the team in scoring with 33 points (16g, 17a). Robinson was named AHL Player of the Week for the week ending December 11 and had an eleven game point scoring streak from 12/9-12/30. The Scarborough, Ontario native split last season between the Syracuse Crunch and Grand Rapid Griffins, tallying 44 points (14g, 30a) in 69 games. During the 2003-04 season, Robinson was selected for the AHL All-Star game and spent five games in the NHL with the Detroit Red Wings posting two penalty minutes. With Grand Rapids, Robinson had 50 points (24g, 26a) in 69 games, ranking second on the team in goals and points. He also earned the AHL Player of the Week Award on December 21, 2003. Robinson spent his rookie season with the Griffins as well, posting 17 points (3g, 14a) in 53 games as his team advanced to the Western Conference Finals.

The P-Bruins continue their road trip Friday, January 13 at the Portland Pirates, Saturday, January 14 against the Lowell Lock Monsters and Sunday, January 15 at the Manchester Monarchs.
