
Rampage sign Justin Cox and Ed Hill to PTO

SAN ANTONIO (Jan. 13, 2006) - The San Antonio Rampage announced today that they have signed right wing Justin Cox and defenseman Ed Hill to a Professional Tryout Offer (PTO).
The 24-year-old Cox began the season with the Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL tallying eight goals and 12 assists for 20 points with 16 penalty minutes (PIM). He has collected 61 points (30-31=61) in 259 games over four seasons in the AHL with the Utah Grizzlies. The Merritt, British Columbia native, was the Dallas Stars' sixth choice (6th round, 184th overall) in the sixth round of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.
Hill, 25, has registered four goals and 17 assists for 21 points and 43 PIM in 26 games spilt this season between Phoenix Roadrunners and the Utah Grizzlies of the ECHL. The 6-3, 215-pound has recorded six points (1-5=6) and 83 PIM in 92 games with the Lowell Lock Monsters over parts of three seasons.
The Coyotes reassigned right wing Tim Jackman to the Rampage yesterday. Jackman, 24, did not register a point in eight games with the team since his recall on Dec. 21. In 27 contests with the Rampage this season, the Minot, North Dakota native has recorded 2-5-7 and 84 PIM. The Coyotes acquired the 6-foot-4, 210-pound Jackman along with Geoff Sanderson from the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for Jason Chimera, Cale Hulse, and Mike Rupp on Oct. 8, 2005.
