Peoria Skates Past Knights, 4-1

Omaha, NE - The Peoria Rivermen erased an early deficit with four unanswered goals to beat the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights 4-1 on Friday night at the Civic Auditorium.

After a scoreless first period, Carsen Germyn got the Knights on the board, finishing off a netmouth scramble with his team-leading 18th goal of the year.

Peoria responded on the powerplay with a goal from Lee Stempniak. Jon DiSalvatore added an even-strength goal, and Mike Glumac tacked on another powerplay tally to put the Rivermen up 3-1 after two.

Trent Whitfield added a goal late in the third period for the final score. The season series is now tied at two wins a piece.

The Knights are now 16-17-1-7. They finish the home-and-home series tomorrow night in Peoria at 8:00 p.m. The game can be heard on 1420 KOTK and on the internet at omahaaksarbenknights.com. The game can also be seen on-line by clicking on the link to B2 Networks on the web site.
