Baines Sets Franchise Record

NORFOLK, VA - In his 400th AHL career game, Admirals' Captain Ajay Baines has set a new franchise record for scoring, as the Admirals defeated Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 5-3 at Scope.

Baines scored the game-winning goal and chipped in an assist in Norfolk's victory over Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, giving him 175 AHL career points. He is Norfolk's all-time games played leader, and is second all-time in goals (65) and assists (107). The 27-year old native of Kamloops, BC, has played his entire AHL career with the Admirals.

The previous mark of 173 points was set by Marty Wilford, who posted 32 goals and 141 assists in four seasons with the Admirals (2000-01, 2002-05).

The 2005-06 season is Baines' fourth in which he is serving as Norfolk's team captain.
