Utah's Michaud ECHL Saver Of Month

Anchorage, Alaska - The ECHL announced today that Utah Grizzlies goaltender Alfie Michaud is the RBC Financial Group ECHL Saver of the Month for February.

Returning from a month-long injury on February 1st, the former Vancouver Canuck went 8-0-2 with three shutouts, a 1.76 GAA and a .964 save percentage as the Grizzlies finished their most successful month of the season 10-2-2.

Michaud had seven-straight wins from February 4 - 24. February 18 in Las Vegas, the 2002-2003 ECHL Goaltender of the Year, made 28 saves as Utah beat the Wranglers 5-0, becoming the first National Conference team to win in regulation at Orleans Arena this season.

Last week, playing four games in five nights, (including three straight nights: February 24-26) Michaud had two shutouts going 3-0-1, as the Grizzlies picked up seven of a possible eight points continuing their season-long nine-game road trip.

Michaud is 19-8-3 overall with a goals-against average of 2.65 and a save percentage of .912. His four shutouts, all of which have occurred on the road, are tied for the league lead. Last year in Peoria, the 29-year-old led the ECHL with six shutouts.

Michaud and the Grizzlies return to action tonight at 9:15 p.m. taking on the Alaska Aces at Sullivan Arena. Utah is back home Wednesday, March 15 hosting Alaska at the E-Center.
