Grizzlies' Kinasewich Named CCM TACKS ECHL Player Of The Month

PRINCETON, N.J. - Ryan Kinasewich of the Utah Grizzlies is the CCM TACKS ECHL Player of the Month for February.

The 22-year-old led the Grizzlies in February with 10 goals, 16 assists and 26 points in 14 games as Utah went 10-2-2 to improve to 32-20-5 and move into third place in the West Division with 69 points.

The left wing registered 10 multiple-point games, including a streak where he scored six of seven games registering two points with a goal and an assist. He ended the month on an eight-game scoring streak (6g-12a), including three points (1g-2a) in a 5-4 win at San Diego on Feb. 22 and four points (1g-3a) in Utah's 4-0 win at Phoenix on Feb. 26.

The 6-foot-2 and 202-pound Kinasewich, who led Utah with eight power-play points in February while tying for the lead with four power-play goals, was named ECHL Player of the Week for Feb. 20-26.

He leads the Grizzlies and is second in the ECHL with 30 goals in 47 games while his team-leading 68 points is tied for fourth in the league. He is fifth in the league with a team-leading 29 power-play points and also leads the Grizzlies with 12 power-play goals while he is second on the team with 17 power-play assists.

In his rookie season in 2004-05, Kinasewich had 38 points (16g-22a) in 43 regular season games and six points (1g-5a) in five playoff games for Reading. He was chosen to play in the 2005 ECHL All-Star Game where he scored a goal and an assist and he also played in the American Hockey League with Manchester where he had eight points (2g-6a) in 29 games.

The native of St. Albert, Alberta played five years in the Western Hockey League and had 252 points (106g-146a) and 232 penalty minutes in 298 regular season games and 12 points (7g-5a) in 16 playoff games with Medicine Hat and Tri-City.
