Gajic Named ECHL Rookie of the Month for February

The ECHL Announced today that Gladiators forward Milan Gajic has been named the CCM Vector Rookie of the Month for February 2006.

Under contract to the Providence Bruins of the AHL, Gajic was assigned to the Gladiators on December 26th and garnered ECHL Player of the Week honors during the week of January 9th through the 15th.

Drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers, #112 overall in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, Gajic ranked third in overall scoring and first among rookies on the Gladiators during February but only appeared in 10 of 13 games due to being on recall to Providence.

Gajic posted 15 points for the Gladiators with 8 goals and 7 assists during February while he had three power play goals and was a +7 for Gwinnett during the month.

The Burnaby, BC native currently ranks 3rd in scoring among rookies on the Gladiators with 43 points off of 20 goals and 23 assists in just 28 games this season with Gwinnett.

Prior to turning professional this year, Gajic spent four years at the University of Michigan where he scored 115 points (53g-62a) in 159 games and helped the Wolverines win the CCHA championship and advance to the Frozen Four in 2001-02 and 2002-03.

The Gwinnett Gladiators continue the 2005-06 ECHL season on the road on Friday, March 3rd as they travel to Columbia to take on the Inferno at 7:30 p.m. The Gladiators offer several ticket packages for different needs as well as group outings, suites and birthday parties.
