March 3, 2006 - ECHL (ECHL)
Greenville Grrrowl News Release
GREENVILLE, SC - The ECHL announced today that Grrrowl forward TIM SESTITO has been named runner-up for the CCM Vector Rookie of the Month Award. Sestito had 14 points in 15 games in February, helping the Grrrowl to an 8-6-1 record. Gwinnett's Milan Gajic won the award with 15 points in 13 games.
Sestito becomes the second Grrrowl played named runner-up for Rookie of the Month this season. His linemate, Tyler Mosienko was runner-up for Rookie of the Month in November with 12 points in 12 games. That month, Grrrowl goalie Mike Brodeur was runner-up for Goalie of the Month after going 8-3-1.
Sestito's nine goals in February was tied for the team lead. He had a four-game goal scoring streak from Feb. 4 - 10, and recorded his fourth two-goal game of the season on Feb. 14 at Florida. One of those two goals went for the game-winner, one of the rookie's two game-winning goals in February.
The 6-0, 190-pounder had a goal and two assists for a three-point night against Pensacola Feb. 19th in a 5-4 Grrrowl win. Sestito, a native of Rome, NY, closed out the month with a three-game assist streak from Feb. 24 - 28. He put 46 shots on goal in February, second most on the team.
Sestito has played in every Grrrowl game this season, recording 19 goals and 16 assists for 35 points. He's tallied 113 penalty minutes and has recorded a +/- rating of +10. Sestito's 19 goals ranks fifth on the team and his 35 points ranks eighth.
In other news, Grrrowl forward COLIN PEPPERALL was removed from the Injured Reserve list today and is expected to play tonight at Wheeling.
The Grrrowl continue their five-game Northern road trip tonight with a game in Wheeling, WV in just the third-ever meeting between the teams. Greenville beat Wheeling, 3-0, at the BI-LO Center on Dec. 10th. Greenville will return to the BI-LO Center on March 10th for a 7:05 p.m. game against the Augusta Lynx. The Zooperstars will be performing during that game. For tickets, call 864-233-2525.
