Utah Grizzlies News Release

West Valley City, Utah - With less than a day remaining before the ECHL's 2005-2006 trade deadline, Utah Grizzlies Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Jason Christie has announced the acquisitions of forward Joe Dusbabek and defenseman Brent Henley from the Phoenix RoadRunners in exchange for future considerations. Both players were alternate captains in Phoenix this season.

With 10 goals and 14 assists, Dusbabek, a seventh round selection (163rd overall) of the San Jose Sharks in the 1997 entry draft, was the RoadRunners second leading scorer this season. The Minnesota native had his best ECHL season in 2002-2003, when he registered 27 goals and 34 assists with the Roanoke Express. Overall, he has played in 283 games, tallying 74 goals and 120 assists for 194 points. On opening night at the E-Center, he scored a shorthanded goal for the RoadRunners versus Utah, which also turned out to be the game-winning goal, as Phoenix ruined the Grizzlies ECHL debut 4-2.

Henley, 6-foot-7, sits second in the ECHL in penalty minutes with 271. The trade gives Utah the top three ECHL players in terms of penalty minutes. (Brad Herauf 303, Henley 271, Colt King 260.) Henley has 43 games of experience in the AHL with Toronto, Lowell, Rochester and Edmonton. In total, he has appeared in 153 ECHL games tallying five goals, 20 assists and 844 penalty minutes.

Having already clinched a playoff berth, the Grizzlies will continue to battle for playoff seeding tomorrow when they welcome the Alaska Aces to the E-Center to open a four-game home stand. Face-off is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
