Team Captain Andrew Rowe Returns to Stingrays from AHL

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays, celebrating 22 seasons of hockey in the Lowcountry, announced today that forward and team captain Andrew Rowe has returned to the team from his loan to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL). In a separate transaction, the Stingrays traded forward Brandon Hynes to the Alaska Aces in exchange for future considerations.

Rowe, 26, generated seven points (four goals, three assists) in seven games with the Stingrays this season prior to his loan. With the Checkers, the Muskegon, Michigan, native added five points (one goal, four assists) in 12 contests. He was named the 10 captain in Stingrays history on October 22.

Last season, Rowe finished second in the ECHL in goals (31), 19 in assists (35), fifth with 66 points and a plus-minus rating of +28 in 64 games with the Greenville Road Warriors, earning an All-ECHL Second Team selection.

Hynes, 22, registered three goals and six assists for nine points in 19 games with the Stingrays.
