
ECHL All-Star Classic to Air on AM 740 the Game and iHeartRadio

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL on Friday announced that DJ Abisalih of the Wheeling Nailers has been selected as the radio broadcaster for the 2015 CCM / ECHL All-Star Classic presented by Visit Orlando .
The game will be broadcast live starting at 7 p.m. ET on 740 The Game in Orlando as well as worldwide through iHeartRadio on iheartsolarbears.com . Coverage on AM 740 The Game also includes live on-site remote broadcasts from the Sports RX with the Shot Doctor and Justin Steadman from 3-5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 20 and Wednesday, Jan. 21, as well as a live broadcast of the "Beat of Sports" with Marc Daniels at the Amway Center on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until 12 noon.
Abisalih's call will also be available on ECHL.TV, which is offering a free broadcast of the All-Star Classic. Fans can set up an ECHL.TV account free of charge and use code CCMASC2015 to access the feed from Orlando.
Abisalih is in his fourth season as the radio broadcaster for the Nailers. Prior to coming to Wheeling, he spent two seasons with the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League's Lewiston MAINEiacs. Abisalih, 27, was born in Methuen, Mass., but has lived in Scarborough, Maine for most of his life, and is a diehard supporter of the four major sports teams from New England. After graduating from Scarborough High School, Abisalih attended the New England School of Communications, where he earned an Associate Degree in Sports Broadcasting. From there, he co-hosted a radio show in Portland, Maine, while also working for the Portland Sea Dogs (Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox) for nine seasons.
On Wednesday, January, 21, the eighth ECHL Hall of Fame class will be inducted during a luncheon ceremony presented by BFL CANADA at the DoubleTree by Hilton Orlando Downtown, the official host hotel of the 2015 ECHL All-Star Classic.
Ten coaches from the ECHL All-Star Game have gone on to coach in the National Hockey League while 62 players from the contest have gone on to play in the NHL, including 46 since 2002 when the lineups began having players who coaches felt were prospects to move up to a higher level.
The ECHL All-Star Fan Fest, presented by Walgreen's, with player appearances, interactive games, prizes, giveaways, auctions, memorabilia, and a special Hockey Hall of Fame exhibit, will be held on Tuesday, January 20 . On Wednesday, January 21, the day's events include the ECHL Hall of Fame Luncheon and the 2015 CCM / ECHL All-Star Classic presented by Visit Orlando . Select ECHL Skills competitions will be held the same night and will be incorporated into the evening's events.
