Milan Heads to Syracuse; Thunder Add Blueliner

Wichita, KS (Jan. 16th) - The Wichita Thunder, proud member of the ECHL and powered by Toyota, announced two transactions leading up to tonight's game in Allen. Defenseman Dan Milan has been recalled by the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League via the Tampa Bay Lightning (NHL). The Thunder have added defenseman Mike MacIntyre and he is expected to play this evening against the Americans.
Milan, 22, is in his first season with the Thunder. The Detroit, Michigan native is making is second appearance with the Crunch after appearing in one game last season. Through 36 games, Milan equaled his career-high in points (10a) and has collected 82 penalty minutes. Last season, the third year pro totaled 10 points (2g, 8a) and finished with 108 penalty minutes with the Brampton Beast. Prior to turning pro, Milan played 130 games in the QMJHL with the Moncton Wildcats and Victoriaville Tigres. He earned All-Rookie Team honors in 2010-11 when he tallied 38 points (14g, 24a) in Moncton.
MacIntyre, 23, started the season in the SPHL, playing one game for the Peoria Rivermen before heading to Louisiana. A native of Belle River, Ontario, the 5-foot-11, 200-pounder has split the majority of his professional career between the CHL and SPHL. His first stint came during the 20012-13, where he played in 16 games with the Williamsport Outlaws of the FHL before racking up a career-high 17 points (8g, 9a) and 60 penalty minutes with the Pensacola Ice Flyers of the SPHL. He began the 2013-14 season in Brampton, and then split time between the Ice Flyers and the St. Charles Chill. Prior to turning pro, the third year pro spent one season at the collegiate ranks for the University of Windsor where he appeared in 21 games.
Wichita begins a five-game road swing tonight against the Allen Americans at 7:05 p.m.
