Aces Sign Free Agent C Matt Harrington

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The Alaska Aces, three-time Kelly Cup champions, have signed free agent center Matt Harrington, it was announced by Aces head coach Rob Murray.

Harrington, 24, is scheduled to be in the lineup tonight when the Aces resume a six-game road trip against the Colorado Eagles at Budweiser Events Center, beginning at 5:05 p.m. (KFQD/ECHL.TV).

The 5-foot-11, 195 pound forward has 18 points (10g-8a) in 23 games with the Mississippi RiverKings of the Southern Professional Hockey League, ranking second on the club in goals and tied for second in scoring. He also made his ECHL debut with the Wheeling Nailers, skating in four games.

Harrington earned a career-high 39 points and 25 assists in 56 games last season with Mississippi and carries 91 points (39g-52a)and a +8 rating in 116 career SPHL games. He has also added 51 points in 57 career games with Cape Cod of the Federal Hockey League.

The Aces are the official ECHL affiliate of the St. Louis Blues and Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League.
